The Counter-Force Knee Wrap has an adjustable flap closure and fastens with velcro hook and loop fasteners. The rear portion of the wrap is 2" wide and allows for full flexion of the knee joint, while the wrap gradually widens as it comes toward the front of the knee.

It's constructed of heavy-duty stretchable fabric-covered neoprene. Two straps and loops sewn above and below the knee wrap make it possible to adjust the wrap for pressure.

The original Cho-pat Knee Strap was designed to alleviate the pain and discomfort due to Chondromalacia patella syndrome and patellar tendonitis. Shortly after introduction, we found the knee strap quite effective for Osgood Schlatter's disease, iliotibial band syndrome and reducing the erosion of the undersurface of the kneecap. It accomplishes this by tightening up on the kneecap mechanism by applying pressure upon the patellar tendon below the kneecap.

The Dual Knee Strap incorporates some of the advantages of the original Knee Strap plus the added benefits of further strengthening the kneecap mechanism by applying pressure on the tendon above the kneecap as well. This tends to reduce the forces of the quadriceps on the patella tendon and erosion of the under surface of the kneecap due to a possible misalignment of th equadriceps (Q-angle).

Additionally, because of the nature of the material, (neoprene) the device applies constant dynamic forces to the surrounding areas of the knee joint thus reducing the likelihood of iliotibial band and overuse syndromes so prevalent in the very active.
